Respite Training:   The training video "A Respite Journal" is now available for purchase. The training video shows how to care for an elder through the eyes of a respite worker. The video is 48 minutes long and is available in VHS format. The cost is $89.00 and includes shipping and handling.

Dementia Care Training: This program targets people who work with individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders to include: respite workers, personal care attendants, care coordinators, home health workers, adult day, assisted living home, and long-term care staff. The program offers an overview of Alzheimer’s disease, understanding the dementia experience, communication skill development and enhancing activities of daily living in its two-day skill-building workshop.

Distance Delivery: “Introduction to Alzheimer’s Disease” is an educational manual designed to provide personal care workers with an introduction to the topic of Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders (ADRD). The guide will give rural care providers important information on the disease they might not otherwise be able to access. The Self-Study Guide is a way to learn valuable information on Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders and earn 7.2 CEU’s. You will find this educational manual helpful as you provide the very important care that our aging population needs.

Loan Closet

Our Anchorage office has a loan closet with items that families may borrow. Inventory of the loan closet changes, but items may include wheelchairs, walkers, canes, incontinence supplies, etc.

Donating items -  we currently accept:

Wheelchairs (non-electric), incontinence supplies (i.e. diapers, wipes, rubber gloves, periwash, chuxs), bedside commodes (if cleaned with bleach and water mixture), shower chairs, tub transfer benches.

Items we accept, but are not needed at this time: walkers, canes and reachers.  We have an over-abundance of these items. If you know of another agency that could use walkers, please call. We would be happy to deliver them.
