SUMMARY:Intimate Partner Caregiver Support Group
DESCRIPTION:Having an intimate partner who has some form of dementia can create challenges that are different from those who are caring for a parent\, sibling or other relative or friend. \nARA currently has two separate support groups specifically for caregivers or care partners who are caring for their intimate partners. These groups provide the safe space for partners to share and gain support from others who are learning how to deal with similar challenges. \nQuestions or ready to sign up? DESCRIPTION:Caregiving can be deeply meaningful and\, at times\, incredibly hard. It is normal to feel both fulfilled and overwhelmed. You may sometimes feel like no one truly understands what you are going through\, but you are not alone. We are here to listen\, and support is available. \nCaregiver Support Groups connect people with shared experiences in a welcoming space to offer understanding\, encouragement\, and practical insight. Participants can share what has helped them\, learn from others\, and access information about helpful local resources. \nThis free\, in person Caregiver Support Group meets on the second Saturday of each month at the Noel Wien Library in Fairbanks. You are welcome to attend once or return as often as you find helpful.
