Caregiver 101: If, When, and How of Assisted Living

September 22 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Making the decision to move into assisted living or memory care can be one of the most difficult choices a family faces. This Caregiving 101 class explores when additional support may be beneficial, what to look for when evaluating assisted living and memory care communities, and how to navigate the transition with confidence. Participants will also gain a better understanding of the financial considerations of long term care and practical strategies for making informed decisions that support both the person living with dementia and their care partner. Participants will:

  • Recognize the signs that may indicate it is time to consider assisted living or memory care and identify key features of a quality dementia care community.
  • Understand the financial, practical, and emotional considerations involved in the transition to assisted living and available long term care options.

This event is free to attend. Contact Janice Downing for more information at jdowning@alzalaska.org or call 907-746-3413.
