The Support You Need For Every Step
The journey through Alzheimer’s and related dementias can be long and winding, but you don’t have to navigate it alone. We’re a boots-on-the-ground organization dedicated to serving Alaskans. Plus, only one person in the care partnership needs to live in Alaska to access our services.
Whatever stage you’re in, we’ll connect you with services that lighten the load. From encouraging groups to financial resources, a Resource Specialist will help you find the right support for your next step forward.
Free Memory Screening
If you’ve noticed changes in your memory — or if you’re concerned about the person you care for — a free memory screening can help. Screenings are simple, confidential, and available statewide. They take just a short time and can provide reassurance. If results suggest further evaluation, we’ll guide you toward the next steps with your healthcare provider.
Early detection provides clarity and more options for planning.
Support Groups
Living with dementia or caring for someone who is can feel isolating. Support groups bring people together to share experiences, find encouragement, and learn from others who understand.
Groups are available across Alaska, both in-person and online. Some are designed specifically for caregivers; others are open to individuals in the early stages of memory loss.
Connection makes the journey lighter and reminds you that you are not on your own.
Mini Grants
The financial demands of dementia care can add up quickly. Our mini grants provide limited funds to help with things like respite care, safety modifications, or supplies that make daily life easier.
Grants are designed to be practical and accessible — small amounts that relieve specific burdens for caregivers and families.
Even modest support can make daily care more manageable and improve quality of life.
Managing dementia care often feels like navigating a maze of doctors, services, and paperwork. Our Resource Specialists provide care coordination: personalized guidance to help individuals and families make a plan, connect with providers, and adjust as needs change.
Think of care coordination as having a trusted guide who knows the system, understands your situation, and walks alongside you.
You don’t have to navigate care on your own. Care coordination makes the process clearer and less overwhelming.
Care Navigation
When you’re facing the many decisions that come with caregiving — medical, financial, housing, and more — our Care Navigation team steps in to guide you onward. We help you understand your choices, connect with trusted services, and make confident decisions so that both you and your loved one have a clear path forward.
