CANCELLED: Interfaith Day of Learning: Spiritual Care for the Journey
This class is cancelled due to weather.
Alzheimer’s Resource Alaska invites you to join us for a meaningful interfaith afternoon of learning, conversation, and support focused on dementia awareness, prevention, and care. We are grateful to partner with Amazing Grace Lutheran Church and Christ Church Episcopal, who are generously providing the venue, refreshments, and outreach to local faith communities.
Many older adults wonder whether everyday forgetfulness is a normal part of aging or a sign of something more serious. This gathering offers a welcoming space to learn, ask questions, and connect with neighbors and faith leaders who care deeply about supporting individuals and families on this journey.
Led by experts from Alzheimer’s Resource Alaska, this interactive conversation will provide practical tools and compassionate guidance, including:
- Understanding what is normal aging and when memory changes may signal something more serious
- Learning practical strategies to support brain and memory health and reduce risk
- Exploring how faith communities can become safe, supportive, dementia friendly spaces for individuals and families
This event is open to all and especially welcoming to older adults, caregivers, and members of faith communities who want to learn how to better support one another.
Registration: Please call Amazing Grace Lutheran Church and Christ Church Episcopal to register so we can plan for plenty of resources at 907 344 4317
We look forward to learning together and strengthening our community of care.
