Statewide Grief Support Group

December 18, 2025 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

We most often think of grief as a response to the death of someone close. It is that, but it is more. For caregivers, it issomething that is continuous, daily, often lasting for years before the passing of the one for whom they’re providing care. In the emotionally jumbled, stressful experience of being a caregiver, who listens and understands? Alzheimer’s Resource Alaska does, and we are
offering a place and time for caregivers to be heard, to share thoughts and feelings, and find solace. Join us.

We offer compassionate grief support groups on the first and third Thursdays of each month, led with care by Gay Wellman through Zoom. We welcome anyone navigating the loss of a loved one, as well as caregivers and others who continue to experience anticipatory grief due to Alzheimer’s disease or another form of dementia.

Because the groups meet online, people from communities across the state can come together to share stories, receive understanding, and find comfort in the company of others who truly get what they are going through. Whether your grief is fresh or something you have carried for a while, you will find a place here where your feelings are honored and you do not have to face them alone.

You are welcome just as you are.

With questions or to sign up, reach out to Gay Wellman at gwellman@alzalaska.org.
