Understanding Alzheimer’s and Related Dementia
Understanding Alzheimer’s and Related Dementia is an educational class designed to provide a clear, compassionate overview of how dementia affects the brain, behavior, and daily life. Participants will learn the differences between Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, common warning signs, how the disease progresses over time, and what to expect at each stage.
The class also explores practical strategies for communication, approaches to supportive care, and guidance for families and friends who are navigating a diagnosis. Whether you are a caregiver, family member, professional, or simply want to learn more, this session offers reliable information in an accessible and supportive environment.
Alzheimer’s Resource Alaska provides these services to individuals and families impacted by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia across the state. Services are not income based, and we support everyone affected by ADRD. As a nonprofit organization, we welcome community support in all forms of time, talent, and treasure.
