Fidget Sleeves Available for Alaska Interior Residents

Claire Whetmore provides Fidget Sleeves to Alzheimer’s Resource of Alaska Fairbanks for sharing with Interior residents.

Fidget Sleeves are a sensory tool used to relax and calm the senses for individuals experiencing Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia. They help to engage restless hands, promote fine motor movement, reduce anxiety, bring comfort, and stimulate the brain. They are made with bright colors and textural embellishments that allow easy manipulation. The fidget sleeves in the photo above are woven by Claire Whetmore, a Fairbanks resident who provides these to Alzheimer’s Resource of Alaska Fairbanks office for sharing with Interior residents.

If you are in the Alaska Interior and would like a Fidget Sleeve for someone you care for, contact our Fairbanks office.
